Dr Belinda (Brandy) Rawnsley

Senior Research Officer (Horticulture)

Brandy is an experienced plant pathologist, and has been responsible for AgXtra’s horticultural trial program since starting in July 2014. Before joining AgXtra, Brandy worked for 18 years in horticultural pathology with Dr Trevor Wicks at SARDI, mostly on industry-funded research projects and horticulture diagnostics.

Her research has been varied including work on Phomopsis cane and leaf spot of grapevine that led to reduced chemical use in the industry, and she has carried out research showing the benefits of using reclaimed water for irrigation of vines. In 2009, she was awarded the Barossa Valley Viticulture Innovation Award.

Brandy enjoys keeping active, especially with her children and sharing a laugh and a drink with friends.
